Will we finally find balance?

Translation by Yehoshua Siskin

Rabbi Yoni Lavi writes as follows:
"This is not normal," my wife said. "Everything is shut down, it's impossible to meet anyone, the kids are stuck inside all day. This situation with the corona just isn't normal".
"You are a hundred percent right," I agreed with her. "What's going on here is completely abnormal."
But on n the other hand –
To live with constant stress and to run around outside most of the day – is that normal?
To go through twenty-four hours when you hardly remember where you were, whom you met, and whose hand you shook – is that normal?
To only allow other people to clean your house and educate your kids – is that normal?
To take constant plane trips abroad, to make an attractive deal for a Pesach seder in Egypt or a Hannukah in Greece – is that normal?
To go out to eat every day when the food they serve you is industrialized, fast, full of fat, cholesterol and sugar – is that normal?
To invest gigantic sums to produce a "crazy" wedding or Bar/Bat Mitzvah in the presence of hundreds of guests and attractions – is that normal?
To romp around in crowds at huge events among countless strangers, with little time left over to enjoy your life and to love your sweet children – is that normal?
Perhaps, just maybe, after the corona, we will finally learn to live a more balanced life."
