“Shalom Sivan, I am a 37-year-old single woman. Since the fast ended last night, I have received no less than four suggestions from acquaintances regarding possible suitable partners for me. Upon receiving the first such suggestion I thought it was nice that people were thinking of me. Upon receiving the second, I thought someone had publicized a “seeking shidduch” announcement in my name. But then I understood that something special is happening here, and it’s not just about me. This is a blessed new development. The nation of Israel feels that this is what is needed not only after the fast on Tisha B’Av, but since October 7th.
At the present time, many initiatives that promote finding a lifetime partner are underway. For example, the Libman family, after losing their son Elyakim Libman, who was a guard at the Nova festival, decided to initiate a project to perpetuate his name. The name of the project is 'Build a home in Elyakim’s memory' and its purpose is not to forget single people even in a time of war. Elyakim was not privileged to build a home and start a family of his own, and so those sponsoring this project want to see a multitude of new families created in his name.
This trend that brought me four suggestions for possible matches, even if they are not suitable, cannot be taken lightly. Reaching out in this manner warms the heart. It shows that people care, that they are investing time and thoughts about my future and have not given up on me.
Ultimately, this effort is what will rebuild the Holy Temple. Each little new home and family that arises in the nation of Israel is a little Holy Temple where the Divine Presence resides.
May everyone hear good news".
